The Salza-Quellbad in Nordhausen is facing major challenges due to leaks and an outdated infrastructure. One possible solution could be a natural pool with biological filtration. Polyplan-Kreikenbaum has carried out a feasibility study. This study proposes a variety of improvements, including enlarging the basin, creating different basin areas and implementing natural filtration methods through “hydrobotany” and dry filtration. A decision is not expected until the baths’ 100th anniversary in 2028 at the earliest.
