After four years of intensive renovation work, the time has finally come: the Bassum natural pool will reopen its doors to visitors in May 2024.
History and planning details
Back in 2006, our planning office Polyplan planned the first conversion of the Bassum outdoor pool into a natural pool.
In June 2020, we were once again commissioned to plan extensive renovations to the pool.
The refurbishment project was carried out in two subcontracts in order to implement the modernization measures in the best possible way.
Scope of the renovation work
The refurbishment measures covered the following areas:
- Foil lining of the pools: A new foil lining ensures improved sealing and durability of the pools.
- Renovation of the footbridge and the acoustic water tank: These important structural elements were extensively renovated.
The walkway was made from a durable recycled plastic material. - Installation of a pool water heating system with district heating: Modern technology enables efficient and environmentally friendly heating of the pool water.
- Renovation of the wet filter: Improved water quality thanks to the renewal of the wet filter.
- Expansion of the children’s play area: An enlarged and modern play area for younger guests.
- Expansion of accessibility: measures to improve accessibility for all visitors.
