Description of the Bath
Since 2011, the outdoor swimming pool with biological water treatment, directly adjacent to the aquaLaatzium indoor swimming pool, has been inviting nature and bathing lovers to swim in a natural atmosphere and in the direct vicinity of numerous water plants. Piers as well as spacious sunbathing areas offer the possibility to enjoy the sun and/or to stay in the shade of the trees planted on the grounds. For the young visitors and families, there is also a children’s playground for climbing, seesawing and playing, as well as a table tennis table and a Table-football table to let off some steam.
The swimming area has a non-swimmer area up to 1.35m deep and a swimmer area up to 1.90m deep. This is surrounded by the aquatic plants and filter areas, as well as the aforementioned piers including a small wooden terrace. Adjacent to the bathing area, there is a separate play area protected with a sun awning. A water snail and a large sandbox for the youngest visitors- the sandcastle masters is also available.
Water treatment
Biological water purification is carried out with the help of filter units, which were integrated into the system as overflow filters around the swimmer’s pool. The bathing water enters the filter areas via skimmers in the float area and an overflow channel in the toddler area, where it is cleaned by physical and biochemical processes before returning to the system.
Target design for the outdoor pool is for a rated attendance of 243 bathers per day. In accordance with FLL recommendations, the water treatment plants were designed to handle this nominal number of visitors.
